Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara has decided not to celebrate his birthday on August 6 owing to the demise of his brother.
He appealed to his followers and supporters not to hold celebratory functions. “My family and I are yet to recover from the demise of my brother. I will not be celebrating my birthday this year,” Mr Parameshwara said in a note.
“I know that the good wishes of my beloved supporters are always with me. I hope you will understand and respect my request.”
Last year, Mr. Parameshwara had appealed his supporters not to erect banners and cut-outs of his birthday.
