Youth’s body found in nullah in Baleswar

A mutilated body of a youth was found in a nullah near a bridge at Budagadia village under the Khaira police station in Baleswar district on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Lambu Hembram of Kolipada village under Govindapur gram panchayat in the district.

Sources said some locals first spotted the body floating in the nullah and called up fire brigade officials. A firefighting team reached the spot and rushed the youth to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Though the cause behind the incident was yet to be ascertained, it was suspected that some miscreants killed the youth for reasons yet not known. Police said the body has been sent for autopsy; and the investigation process would be expedited after getting the postmortem report.
