Abhishek Bachchan is a huge fan of wife, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. If we have heard Abhishek’s rather witty comments on Aishwarya’s fabulous Cannes appearances in the past, this time the actor has spoken about ‘the Mrs’ performance.

With Fanney Khan releasing this week, Abhishek has given his review of the film. While he is effusive in his praise for Anil Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Rajkummar Rao and Pihu Sand, he also reserves a special ‘wow’ for Aishwarya. Writing on Twitter, he says: “Just saw #FanneyKhan. What a beautiful film. A great message and worthy film. Congratulations to the entire team. Leaves a huge emotional lump in your throat. @AnilKapoor, Rajkumar, Pihu, @divyadutta25 are all so, so good. And the Mrs. continues to be my favourite! Best wishes.”

Fanney Khan, a remake of the Oscar-nominated Dutch film Everybody’s Famous, the story charts the difficult journey of an aspiring singer from a lower middle-class background, who must not only fight social prejudice (she is booed for being fat by audience at a show), but also manage the expensive proposition of getting ‘launched’ as a singer.

However, with a failed performer as her father, determined to make his daughter’s dreams come true, Anil Kapoor, decides to take matters into his own hands. With his friend, played by Rajkummar Rao, they decide to kidnap a huge singing star, played by Aishwarya, a plot guaranteed to offer laughs, thanks to Rajkummar’s character, who is clearly in awe of the singer.

The team of the film has been promoting the film with great enthusiasm. On Thursday, the team of Fanney Khan, screened the film for their industry friends. The songs and trailer have been received favourably by the viewers. However, the film did run into rough weather, momentarily, when producer Vashi Bhagnani, dragged it to the court over distribution rights. However, the SC refused to entertain the matter. The film releases today.
