MUMBAI: To allow
colleges to plan their academic calendar,
Mumbai University on Friday announced commencement dates of all
winter exams. The university is set to conduct 661
exams this winter, including the first and second year exams, which are conducted the college-level. Some university exams, including semester V exams for BA and other self-financed programmes such as BMS, BAF, BFM, BBI and BMM even fall during the
Diwali vacations.
The semester V exams for FYBCom students are set to commence on October 24, for BSc on October 30, and for BA students, the exams are from November 13. Most of the self-financed professional exams, such as BAF, BBI and BFM, start on November 19.
Since the academic session was delayed by almost a month in city colleges, the university has scheduled the first year exams for BA, BCom and BSc to start post-vacations from November 28. Second year exams, however, start before the Diwali vacation, from October 24. “The university will ensure that there are no clashes with professional exams this term,” said an official from the examination section.
The clash with the Diwali vacations, however, is unavoidable since 2016, after the university started centrally conducting exams for first and second year students too, added the official.
