Hry CM approves over Rs 16.95 cr for road construction in 3 districts

Chandigarh:  Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has accorded administrative approval amounting to over Rs 16.95 crore for the construction of new roads in Hisar, Nuh and Kaithal districts. A sum of over Rs 10.6 crore has been approved for the construction of four new roads in district Hisar, said a spokesman of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department. He said that these included over Rs 3.35 crore for the construction of new road from village Gurana to Rajli upto Hansi Barwala road, over Rs 1.77 crore for the construction of new road from village Khanpur to Rajli bridge, over Rs 2.95 crore for the construction of new road from village Gurana to Khanpur and over Rs 2.53 crore for the construction of new road from village Sindhar to Masudpur.

Govt allots work among 7 Hry officers of IPR

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has allotted work amongst seven officers of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, with immediate effect. Ved Parkash, Joint Director has been given the charge of Advertisement Section and Film Section, whereas Vandana Sharma, Deputy Director has been given the charge of Research and Reference Section and Store Section. Neerja Bhalla, Deputy Director has been given the charge of Print Media Section and Art and Exhibition Section. Anita Dutta, Deputy Director has been given the charge of Press Section, Photo Section and CM Cell, whereas Raj Singh, Deputy Director has been given the charge of Technical Section and Auto Section. Urvashi Rangara, Deputy Director has been given the charge of Establishment Section, CM Window and IT Cell and Satish Mehra, Deputy Director has been given the charge of Establishment Section, State Public Information Officer (SPIO) and Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO).

Industrialists want fast track courts for cheque-bounce cases

Jhajjar: Industrialists who are running their units at Bahadurgarh town here want Fast Track courts exclusively for the disposal of cases pertaining to cheque-bounce in a time-frame. They say inordinate delay in the cases is taking a toll on businessmen especially those operating small-scale industry.  “The recent amendment to the Negotiable Instrument Act, which allows a court to order for 20 percent payment of an interim compensation to those whose cheques have bounced due to dishonouring parties, is a welcome step but the Government should also pay heed towards disposing off cheque-bounce cases in a time-frame,” said Sushil K. Agarwal, General Secretary,Bahadurgarh Industries’ Association.  Agarwal said the courts were over-burdened with pending cases of cheque-bouncing and traffic violation hence setting up of fast track court exclusively is the only solution in this situation for resolving the cases pertaining to cheque dishonor.

Health Minister hands over appointment letter to 282 staff nurses

Chandigarh: Brahm Mohindra, Punjab Health & Family Welfare Minister handed over appointment letter to 282 staff nurses, 11 epidemiologists and 14 microbiologists in a function held at training institute phase 6 Mohali. He also flagged off 5 IEC publicity vans to generate awareness to check dengue. The Minister exhorted the newly appointed staff nurses and other staff to work diligently and with full sincerity to provide quality health services to the needy citizen of the State. 

BBMB bags first prize for its house journal ‘BBMB Samachar’

Chandigarh: Bhakra Beas Management Board has won first prize for its house journal "Bhakra Beas Samachar" in the category of house journals published during 2016-17.  Tarun Agarwal, Secretary, BBMB and Anurag Goyal, Deputy Secretary, PR received this award from Madhu Mahajan, Principal Chief Income Tax Commissioner, Chandigarh in the annual prize distribution ceremony organized at Tagore Theatre here.

Disabilities Act implementation review 

Chandigarh: Kamlesh Kumar Pandey, Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (DIVYANGJAN) Government of India along with Sanjay Kant Prasad, Deputy Chief Commissioner visited UT Chandigarh to review the status of implementation of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995 & Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.  The best practices implemented by the UT Department were shared which included simplification of procedure for issuance of disability certificate, making 43 buildings disabled friendly under SUGAMYA BHARAT ABHIYAAN, receiving applications for social security pensions are through online portal at e-Sampark centres, disbursement of social security pension through PFMS portal & financial assistance amount being credited into Aadhar linked bank accounts to 100% pensioners under which a total of 2648 beneficiaries have received disability pension, PRIDE fashion show and PARA games, information guide on disability- SAARTHI and mass distribution of aid & appliances.
