Two MPs, Arpita Ghosh and Mamata Bala Thakur, are scheduled to take the flight to Delhi at 2 pm.

The stand-off between Assam police and Trinamool Congress delegation ended on Friday morning with six MPs and MLAs taking the morning flight to Kolkata from Kumbhirgram airport in southern Assam's Silchar.

Two MPs, Arpita Ghosh and Mamata Bala Thakur, are scheduled to take the flight to Delhi at 2 pm.

The delegation was on Friday supposed to reach Guwahati, where the authorities had imposed prohibitory orders u/s 144 of CrPC to prevent them from exiting the airport.

The Assam police on Thursday allegedly roughed up and detained a delegation of eight Trinamool Congress leaders from West Bengal at Kumbhirgram airport in Silchar. The eight — six MPs and two MLAs — had arrived on a two-day visit to assess the situation arising out of the complete draft of the updated National Register of Citizens (NRC) published on July 30 and meet some people excluded from the list.
