GURUGRAM: A 33-year-old man was killed by his
drunk room mate in
Bhondsi late on Thursday night, allegedly because he refused to give the accused a
beedi.
Arvind was arrested on Friday evening and he has confessed to having hit the victim with an iron rod in a fit of rage, police said.
Arvind (37), originally from Madhya Pradesh, shared a room with the victim, Shyam who hailed from Agra, in Garhi Bajidpur village in Bhondsi, where they worked as dairy farm workers.
Around 11.30 pm on Thursday, after returning home drunk, Arvind had asked Shyam for a beedi, but he flatly refused as he was too tired to get up from bed, police said. Infuriated with his room mate’s atitude, Shyam hit him with an iron rod. As Shyam started shouting for help, neighbours rushed to their house. But by the time, Arvind had fled. Shyam was taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. According to doctors, Shyam died due to access bleeding and head injury.
