BJP rally seeks NRC in Bengal

| | Kolkata

In apparent counter measure against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s alleged “Assam expedition”, the BJP on Thursday raised a demand for bringing Bengal under NRC regime in support of which the party marched down Kolkata thoroughfares, past Mamata’s house to the Governor’s House where they met Governor KN Tripathi with their NRC demand.

The BJP staged an 8-km march past the Chief Minister’s house demanding an NRC for Bengal.

Mamata Banerjee has gone to place a game in a peaceful Assam after spoiling the lives of the people in her own  State by indulging in rampant infiltration for electoral purposes.

Now we want an NRC in Bengal so that the infiltrators can be thrown out of this country. State party  president Dilip Ghosh said adding the Chief Minister was unnecessarily meddling in Assam affairs and  inviting a problem in Bengal.

When asked as to whether it was distantly possible for the BJP to come to power in Bengal he said 2019 elections would make the trend clear.

The saffron party leaders marched to the Governor’s house to submit a memorandum in support of their demand, sources said.
