Right to pray: Dalit community protests outside temple in Puducherry

The Dalit community protested outside a temple in Puducherry demanding right to pray at the religious place. More than 100 men and women from the Dalit community alleged that the other communities do not allow them to enter the village temple and worship. Police have been deployed outside the temple to handle the tense situation in the village. In recent past, several such incidents have been reported, in which Dalits have been either denied entry into a temple or mistreated by the other communities.
