Two terrorists were killed by security forces after an encounter broke out in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore early on Friday, officials said today.
In the early morning hours, reports had emerged of a gunfight raging between the terrorists and teams of Sopore police along with 22 Rashtriy Rifles in Drusu village. The terrorists were believed to be trapped in a house.
Earlier on Thursday, two terrorists were gunned down in a brief encounter in Khunriyal area of Lolab Kupwara district. The encounter began as security forces intercepted and fired upon the two terrorists who were traveling in an automobile. The slain terrorists were identified as Bilal Ahmed and Zuhur Ahmed.
