Minority students invited for Scholarship Scheme

Online applications have been invited from new/ renewal students belonging to the minority category for the academic session 2018-19 in Merit-cum-Means and Post-matric Scholarship Scheme till September 30. The students will have to apply on the National Scholarship Portal www.scholarship.gov.in. Applications from the students belonging to the minority category will be accepted online only. Offline applications will not be taken into consideration.

A target of one thousand 519 cases of Merit-cum-Means has been set for year 2018-19 in the State. Scholarships are to be given to one thousand 225 Muslim students, 55 Christian students, 39 Sikhs, 55 Buddhists and 145 students from the Jain community. The target for the renewal cases has not been set. A total target of 12,664 cases has been set for Madhya Pradesh for Post-matric Scholarship in year 2018-19. Scholarships will be given to 10,209 Muslim students, 456 Christians, 324 Sikhs, 462 Buddhists, one thousand 212 Jains and one student from the Parsi community.

Commissioner, Backward Class and Minority Welfare Ramesh Thete has instructed all the educational institutions to ensure that they get names and the courses conducted by them registered mandatorily on the National Scholarship Portal by August 15. Thete has instructed the educational institutions to inspect the online applications carefully and after scrutiny of the attached documents as per rules and forward it after verification of the applications of eligible students in the prescribed time limit.
