Indore: The city crime branch arrested six people on Wednesday for stealing copper cables worth 20 lakh from a factory located in Palda. In addition, two scarp dealers who purchased stolen cables were also arrested. One of the accused stole a truck from Mangaliya before committing theft of copper wires. One of their accomplices is on the run.
Additional Superintendent of Police (crime) Amarendra Singh said investigating team examined the CCTVs installed near the spot when it was revealed that the accused loaded the goods in a truck that belongs to a business firm at Dewas Naka.
The police team launched search in Mangaliya, Dewas Naka and Lasudiya area when it was revealed that accused named Amit Singh, a resident of Tulsi Nagar and Jassi alias Veera of Scheme Number 78, were involved in the crime. After their arrest, the accused admitted that they along with accomplices Lokendra Thakur of Devguradiya, Bunty alias Balakdas Chouhan of Lasudiya Mori, Bhagwan Giri of Mangaliya, Rahul Solanki of Mangaliya and Pradeep Mehta committed the crime.
The accused had taken the stolen goods to Bypass Road in Mangaliya where they kept the goods in a loading vehicle of accused Rahul Solanki and sold some goods to scrap dealer Hanif Khan. They sold remaining goods to another scrap dealer Ramkhilawan Kushwah on AB Road.
Accused Jassi had stolen the truck from United Compound in Dewas Naka and after committing crime, Jassi parked the truck near a petrol pump in Dewas Naka. Following the lead given by Jassi, crime branch team arrested Lokendra, Bunty, Bhagwan, Pradeep, Hanif and Ramkhilawan. Their accomplice Rahul Solanki is on the run.
Accused Amit was earlier arrested by Lasudiya police station staff in connection with theft case. Lokendra arrested by Lasudiya police in connection with a theft case. He committed theft to consume drugs. Bunty, Bhagwan and Pradeep were arrested in another case of theft earlier.
