Marginal hike in power tariffs

Following the review of the of the existing ‘fuel and power purchase cost adjustment formula’  for Goa by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission, the state government through a notification issued on Thursday marginally increased the power tariffs for the next three months.

“The increase in power tariff is very minimal as  compared to  the last quarter. On an average it is ranging from  3 paise to 7 paise per unit,”  chief electrical engineer  N Neelakanta Reddy said.

As per the order issued, there is an increase of 3 paise per unit on domestic connections, up to 7 paise per unit on commercial connections.

However, the tariffs on agriculture and allied services have remained unchanged.
