‘Scrutinise applications for income certificate’

Tirupur: The district administration has directed revenue officials to intensify field inspection before issuing income certificates.
The state revenue administration, on July 27 had issued an order to scrutinise the applications submitted for income certificate because it is the base for getting benefits under social security schemes, especially marriage assistance scheme.

Collector KS Palanisamy has directed village administrative officers to verify the documents, including salary certificate given by employer, properties owned by applicants and incomes sources. VAOs have discretionary powers to verify them.
