Hyderabad, Jazeera Airways flight J9 608 from Kuwait to Hyderabad reported a brief tailpipe flare in the right engine after landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad near here at 1:29 AM on Thursday morning.
The flare was quickly extinguished. All 145 passengers were unharmed and disembarked from the aircraft normally.
Jazeera Airways’ India spokesperson said, “What took place was what the airline industry commonly refers to as a tailpipe flare. Our pilot immediately followed standard operating procedure by switching off fuel and ignition. All safety procedures were followed, and all passengers disembarked normally”.
The operated aircraft is an Airbus A320ceo single-aisle aircraft, the spokesperson added.
