Athol Fugard on Winston Ntshona's death: 'I have lost a dearly-beloved brother'

Johannesburg – South African Playwrite Athol Fugard has spoken out about the death of actor Winston Ntshona, mourning the loss of a “dearly-beloved brother”. 

A statement from Fugard reads: “With the passing of beautiful Winston, I have lost a dearly-beloved brother. A big tree has fallen in the forest. Fortunately for us survivors, there are young ones now growing taller.” 

News of Ntshona’s passing broke on Thursday, with supporters of the icon taking to Twitter to pay their respects. The star was 77 at the time of his death.
