Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states, recorded a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius, according to a meteorological department report.

In Punjab, recorded a high of 36.4 degrees Celsius while and recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 and 35.6 degrees Celsius respectively.

In Haryana's Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul, the maximum temperature settled at 35.3, 37.6, 38.5, 33.8 and 35.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

The Met department has forecast rain or thundershowers at few places in and over the next two days.
