Xiaomi Redmi 5A with Snapdragon 425 to go on sale on Flipkart at 12PM: EMI and Bank offer

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a budget smartphone offered by the Chinese smartphone maker at a starting price of Rs 5,999. The smartphone is going on a flash sale on e-tailer website Flipkart today at 12pm.

As part of the sale, buyers will be available to avail 10% discount with Axis Bank Buzz credit cards. EMI option for the smartphone starts at Rs 200 per month.

Flipkart has limited the maximum order quantity of the smartphone to two unit per customers every 30 days.

Redmi 5A: Key Specifications

Redmi 5A comes in two storage variants -- 2GB RAM paired with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. The storage may be further expanded through micro-SD card support. Both variants are priced at Rs 5,999 and Rs 6,999 respectively.

The smartphone is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. Redmi 5A runs company’s MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

The budget smartphone comes with a 5-inch HD display with pixel resolution of 720x1280. As far as the camera is concerned, the device features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and has an aperture of f/2.2. On the front, it has a 5MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

Key feature of the smartphone is its triple card slot-- two slots for SIM and the other for micro-SD. Another highlight is the ‘dual sheet graphite’ coating on the back panel that keeps the handset cooler by up to one degree.

On the connectivity front, the Redmi 5A comes equipped with support for 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro-USB port and GPS. However, the smartphone misses on fingerprint reader. The device is back by 3000mAh battery.

Redmi 5A comes in colour options that include Grey, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold.
