Unidentified miscreants struck terror in Jalaun

Close on the heels of sensational killing and loot in high security zone near Governor's house in Lucknow, unidentified miscreants struck terror in Jalaun when they opened indiscriminate fire on villagers in Aata locality of the district killing two persons including a lady besides injuring three others critically. The firing took place in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Local police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to district hospital from where the doctors referred them to Medical College in Jhansi. DIG of Jhansi range, SS Baghel, who reached the spot claimed that the motive behind the incident is yet to be ascertained as the victims were having no enmity and the miscreants also not looted any booty. He said that two teams were formed to work out the case at earliest. 

It may be also to mention that unknown miscreants also opened fire in the same village three days back but the local police took no cognizance and also not registered any case as no one was reported to be injured.  The villagers claimed that if the police had taken  any action at that time then the fresh firing would not have taken place.

Reports from Jalaun confirmed that the villagers at Sandhi hamlet of Aata were sleeping when some unidentified armed criminals struck in the village and suddenly opened fire on them in the wee hours of Wednesday.

While Azad (65) and Jaydevi (45) died on the spot in the attack, three others received severe injuries. The injured, identified as Jishan, Mahendrapal and Bala Prasad, were shifted to the hospital, where their condition was stated to be critical and they were shifted to Jhansi. The miscreants fled from the scene of crime soon after the firing. A case was registered against unidentified criminals, while the motive behind the crime was still to be known.
