HYDERABAD: Two students were killed and five of their classmates suffered injuries when the roof of a stage collapsed at a
private school in Kukatpally on Thursday afternoon. The mishap occurred when the students were practicing Karate at the
school premises.
The deceased students were Manikeertana, 9, and Chandana, 8, both IV class students of
New Century School in Kukatpally. The injured students are, Nikita, Naresh, Sandeep, Sahasra and
Divya Sree.
According to Madhapur DCP, A Venkateswara Rao, the mishap occurred when a stage roof collapsed while the students were practicing karate at the school.
"We will register a case of negligence against the school authorities," the DCP said.
The victims were shifted to
Anupama hospital in Kukatpally for treatment.
