Sugar prices at the Vashi wholesale market ruled steady and at mill level showed a mixed trend. Inventories at Vashi, which dropped to almost zero during transporters’ strike, is slowly recovering with 50 truck loads. Freight rates were steady at ₹90-110 a bag. Arrivals improved to 67-68 truck loads and local dispatches were at 60-61 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,220-3,302 and M-grade ₹3,302-3,512. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,180-3,230 and M-grade ₹3,240-3,340.
