Friendship Day is round the corner and brands are trying to cash in on it by launching offers, schemes or new services. One such brand is Hike Messenger. The homegrown messaging platform has announced an all-new sticker pack for Friendship Day this year. The sticker pack include fist bumps, iconic Jai and Veeru sticker, friendship band, heartfelt wish and other stickers.
Stickers are one of the most liked features of Hike. The messaging app offers over 20,000 stickers in more than 40 languages. The newly launched stickers may be downloaded from the sticker shop within the Hike app and are available on both Android and iOS platforms.
Instead of just texts, Hike users can wish their BFFs with cute and fun stickers, the company said. It further added that stickers are also the perfect way to connect with long lost friends and wish them.
To access the stickers, users may navigate to the sticker store in the chat option. From there, they may download the Friendship Day stickers and send a different one to each of their friends.
The app-based messaging platform was launched on 12 December, 2012 by the Bharti Airtel scion Kavin Mittal. In January 2016, Hike acquired a user base of over 100 million.
In the same year, it became the fastest and youngest startup to be bestowed the Unicorn status after raising funding of USD 175 million led by Tencent and Foxconn. It was valued at USD 1.4 billion then.
However, the messenger since then has been facing stiff challenge from other messaging platforms including Whatsapp. Recently, it laid-off 25% of its workforce in May this year across functions, including human resources, accounting and finance, among others. The lay-off then was termed as ‘business as usual’.
