CHANDIGARH: Less than a fortnight after being reinstated as the chairman of the
Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC),
Bharat Bhushan Bharti is faced by yet another controversy.
This time, an audio clip of a purported conversation between a senior BJP leader from
Kurukshetra and an official of the health department, in which there is a reference to Bharti, is in circulation on social media.
According to the conversation in the clip, the caller talks about the the placement of 20 persons at community health centres (CHCs), including Jhansa.
In the three-minute clip, the caller, who is said to be a BJP leader from
Pehowa, used the word “adjustment” for appointment. During conversation, the person is categorically referring that he had spoken to Bharti and the Haryana director general of health services about the issue.
According to conversation, the official is expressing some apprehensions in the wake of directions of the court about reservation.
When contacted, Bharti said he knew nothing. Efforts made to contact DGHS Dr Satish Aggarwal failed. The text message sent to him remained unanswered.
This is the third time Bharti has been surrounded by a controversy. On July 18, Haryana government had reinstated him after two months of suspension. He was suspended in May after a derogatory question was asked in the written exam for the appointment of junior engineers (JEs) conducted by the commission on April 10. Justice Darshan Singh (retired) committee had given a clean chit to him in the matter.
In March, a few days ahead of the budget session, Bharti had courted controversy over the issue of cash for civic body head’s post of Pehowa.
However, when contacted Sukhbir Singh, the civil surgeon of Kurukshetra confirmed the knowledge of the audio clip. “We have not got any instruction related to this,” he said.
