Indore admin demonstrates EVM

Indore district administration conducted a meeting of all the representatives of the national political parties in which Indore ADM and in-charge of elections Nidhi Nivedita displayed the EVM VVPAT and demonstrated its working to the representatives of all the registered national political parties.

Total 28 times random checking of the EVM VVPAT was done by the political parities representatives’, journalists and common people in presence of Indore Collector and chief election officer Indore Nishant Warwade which were all successful.

After voting the paper print was viewed by each voter for seven seconds with their respected sign printed which they voted and then the paper print dropped in the box.

Besides, the voter list with photo was published today for all 3109 polling booths of all the 9 constituencies of Indore district. Also the BLO will be present on all the 3109 polling booths of Indore district and they will help citizens for all type of corrections in their voter card and receive complaints till 21-8-2018.

The corrections will be rectified till 20-9-2018 and the final voter list will be published till 27-9-2018. In this elections the elections commission of India has launched ERO net which will check double entries of the voters and ensured that the voter is registered only once in any part of the India. The double entry of the same voter will be immediately tracked.

There are total nine constituencies in Indore district. There is also a post of block level agent (BLA) of every political party on every booth which will coordinate with the BLO and can also help the people for correction and new voter cards but till date none of the political parties have given the name of block level agent to the Indore administration.

During the meeting The Pioneer drew the attention of Indore administration that to get the duplicate voter ID card, a person has to deposit Rs 25 in the bank as challan. The challan form is available in the stationery shops and the challan has to be deposited at the tehsil headquarters or to the polling agent which is a very lengthy and tiring process.
