Sam Curran 24 and James Anderson 0 continued with an overnight score on day 2 Curran lost his wicket to Shami in the 90th over without scoring any runs while Anderson scored 2 off 15 and remained not out. Curran’s 24 came off in 71 balls with 3 fours.
For England it was Bairstow 70 off 88 balls and skipper Root 80 who kept England score ticking, but was run out by Kohli in 63rd over after that Bairstow too lost his wicket in 66th over after being bowled out by Umesh Yadav.
Root’s 80 came off in 156 balls hitting 9 fours.Bairstow and Root put 104 run partnership for the fourth wicket, but after their departure wickets kept falling at regular intervals.
For India off-spinner R Ashwin struck 4/60 in 25 overs with 7 maiden while Mohammed Shami 3/64 in 19 overs with 2 maiden while Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav bagged one wickt each.
