Lynk & Co 03 Sedan Surfaces Online, Will Debut Next Month

We haven’t heard much from Lynk & Co lately, but several pictures of the 03 have surfaced online.

Set to debut at the Chengdu Motor Show next month, the all-new model is a compact sedan which follows in the footsteps of the 01 and 02 crossovers. The production model closely resembles the 03 concept and it has a familiar front fascia with high-mounted LED daytime running lights. Further below, we can see a slender grille that is flanked by recessed headlights.

While the front of the model has a somewhat boxy appearance, the sides are more dynamic as they have rounded bodywork, a prominent character line and sporty side skirts. We can also see a compact greenhouse, a panoramic glass roof and metallic trim which runs all the way from the A-pillar to the C-pillar.

The sporty styling continues at the rear as this particular model has an aggressive diffuser, a dual exhaust system and a trunk-mounted spoiler. The taillights also have a distinctive appearance and they are separated by a black insert featuring large “Lynk & Co” badging.

While the latest pictures don’t showcase the interior, previous spy photos have shown the sedan will have a thick-rimmed steering wheel, metallic accents and a center stack that is cantered towards the driver. Other highlights will include an infotainment system and stylish upholstery on the dashboard, center console and door panels.

Full details will be announced next month, but the 03 will ride on the Compact Modular Architecture that was jointly developed with Volvo. The platform has already been used a handful of different models including the new XC40.

Engine options will likely be shared with other Lynk & Co models so we can expect an entry-level variant with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine producing around 150 PS (110 kW / 148 hp). There should also be a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine developing approximately 190 PS (139 kW / 187 hp).

Later down the road, there could be a plug-in hybrid variant and possibly even an electric-only model.
