Departmental coordination at Anganbadi centres for ‘Poshan abhiyaan’

Women and child development department organised a day workshop at Secretariat building (Mahanadi Bhawan) at Naya Raipur for departmental coordination to run the ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’ at Anganbadi Centres of State.

The details of drive were given at the workshop. Under the departments, health and family welfare, public health engineering, food and civil supplies, agriculture and horticulture, Panchayat and rural development, National Rural Livelihood Mission, School education, urban administration, social welfare and Scheduled Caste and Tribal welfare would coordinate the day to day activities at anganbadi centres.

As per the Government of India drive, in Chhattisgarh at 23926 anganbadi centres issues of protection of child and mother, eradication of malnutrition, cleanliness, educating the girls along with literacy among the mothers, construction of anganbadi buildings among other activities would be undertaken. Bastar district has 2040, Bijapur 1172, Dantewada 1157, Durg 1057, Jashpur 4333, Kanker 2141, Kawardha 1687, Korba 2589, Mahasamund 1795, Narayanpur 560, Raipur 1886 and Rajnandgaon 3159 anganbadi centres which would be covered under the drive.

Women and child development secretary Dr M Geetha, director Rajesh Singh Rana, UNICEF State chief Prashanta Das and Mrs Farhat Saud among others nodal officers of departments were present.
