GURUGRAM: Nearly a month after issuing notices to five liquor
vendors in the city to clear its dues worth Rs 12.23 crore, the
Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) on Wednesday announced that they will seal 14 vends, being operated on
Huda properties by the five vendors, till the owners pay the amount.
“We have decided to seal these vends for non-payment of dues. Action is being taken as per the Huda policy and we are going to use the differential global positioning system (DGPS) to measure the area and calculate the rent,” said Bharat Bushan Gogia, estate officer II, Huda.
The matter came to light following an audit held last month by the authority to calculate the
revenue generation. The report revealed that five
liquor vendors, namely Ganpati Wines, Discovery Wines, Lake Forest Wines, Shiva Wines and Prem owed Rs 12.23 crore to Huda since 2015.
On July 11, J Ganesan, chief administrator of Huda, instructed officials to take action against the defaulters. According to Huda officials, the vendors were given time to clear the dues and were warned that on failing the same the properties will be sealed.
The sealing drive will be conducted on Friday.
