For a person who is not very vocal, Dhoni has been quite active on social networks in the recent past. Well, and then there is the usual dose of trolls who never let go an opportunity to bash almost any move of the celebrities.

And then there is Dhoni, who on the final lap of his career is under constant public scrutiny, and every move is tossed around all over the place.

In the final ODI against England, Dhoni had asked for the cricket ball from the umpire at the end of the match. It sparked off speculations about his retirement from the game.

However, Ravi Shastri cleared the air over the entire episode and said that he had wanted to show the condition of the cricket ball to bowling coach Bharat Arun.

With the inclusion of Rishabh Pant in the Test squad, the selectors are giving indications that they are preparing for life after Dhoni, even in the limited overs format. With the 2019 World Cup looming large, it will be interesting to see the route both Dhoni and selectors take.
