PU to work with MC for 'Chandigarh Swachhata me banega No 1'

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab University, Chandigarh will work with the Municipal Corporation in the campaign "Chandigarh Swachhata me banega No 1."
This was shared by Chandigarh Mayor Davesh Moudgil after a meeting with Dr Raj Kumar, newly-appointed vice-chancellor of Punjab University, Chandigarh. The V-C was at the office of Mayor in MC office in sector 17 and held detailed discussions regarding Swachh Bharat campaign and other issues.

Mayor said that the MC will involve the NSS and NCC strength to create awareness campaigns throughout the city including educational institutes, colleges affiliated to PU and other social organisations. He said the V-C has assured him that responsibility to take initiatives in the field of 'Chandigarh Banega No 1' will be given to all the HODs of different departments of the Punjab University.

The Mayor further said that four-tire system will work in this field including Mayor and team of 5 members, Commissioner office, Medical Officer of Health, Swachh Bharat Mission, councilors, Safaikarmacharis and stakeholders that are resident welfare associations, market welfare associations, NGOs, institutes, religious and other organisations etc.

He said that regular meetings with V-C and HODs of different departments of PU and other organisations will be held in future to make 'Chandigarh No 1' in Swachhata rankings.
