Nagpur: Cops from New Delhi, with the help of Pachpaoli police, conducted a search at the slums adjoining
Motibagh railway station in the wee hours of Tuesday for a racket of kidnappers targeting children.
A baby girl had been kidnapped from the waiting room at Ajmeri Gate entrance of New Delhi railway station. The girl was luckily rescued as her mother alerted Railway Protection Force (RPF), who had immediately broadcast the information. The girl was rescued from the kidnapper while he was sneaking away from the railway station, and trying to board a rickshaw. During interrogation, the kidnapper claimed to have revealed his links in Nagpur.
Delhi police, following the arrest of Nagpur-based kidnapper, decided to raid the residence of a transgender residing at Motibagh. It’s reliably learnt that the kidnapper, now behind bars in Delhi, used to beg at Automative Chowk. He is learnt to have named the city-based transgender as the kingpin of the racket of child kidnappers.
A source from Pachpaoli police station said the joint raid was conducted at the residence of a transgender, identified as Ranjita, but nothing was found. The cops had apprehended that several minors may be found at her place.
