Bhopal: National president of Congress Rahul Gandhi will start a bus yatra from Omkareshwar in September, sources said on Tuesday. Gandhi conducted a meeting of state Congress leaders in New Delhi, on Tuesday.
Veteran Congress leaders including state president Kamal Nath, member of parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia and Vivek Tankha, former chief minister Digvijay Singh, leader of opposition Ajay Singh, state in-charge Deepak Bawaria, CWC member Arun Yadav and others participated and discuss about the preparations for upcoming elections in MP. Discussion were held on issues related to manifesto, public meetings and bus yatra.
According to sources Rahul has instructed that before his tour to the state, Kamal Nath and Scindia shall complete their state tour. Committee has done considerable work on the manifesto and it will be drafted till August 12. Sources said that the president would release it in September.
His inputs for manifesto have been to prepare it in a way that people believe in it and find it relevant. In-charges of various committees submitted their reports to Rahul. The issue of jostling with Bawaria was also discussed in the meeting.
Rahul asked leaders to keep a control over their supporters and in place of supporting their leaders they should support Congress party. He warned them that such incidents should not be repeated. The party leaders from the state assured national president that they follow patry’s instructions on the matter of coalition.
