NEW DELHI: Cricketers Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Bollywood celebrities have been invited for Imran Khan's oath-taking ceremony scheduled to take place on August 11, reported Pakistan's Dawn News.

The names of the Indian guests were announced by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary.

Following Khan's victory in the general elections last month, the administration in Pakistan and PTI are busy compiling a list of the guests who will be invited for the ceremony.

As per the report, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other Saarc leaders, President of Turkey and China are expected to attend the ceremony.

On the question of inviting PM Modi, the party has sought a response from the country's Foreign Office. Senior leaders in PTI are apprehensive of extending an invitation to PM Modi as it will have to face serious embarrassment in case the PM declines, the report said.
