Indian test skipper Virat Kohli may claim he has nothing to prove to anyone about his cricketing abilities in public. But India’s tour of England may end up being all about just that only. India play their first of the five tests at Edgbaston in Birmingham in what is England’s 1000th test match on Wednesday. The 29-year-old dashing batsman fared poorly in his last tour to England scoring only 134 runs in 10 innings in 2014. India had lost the Test series 3-1. Since then, Kohli has seen a remarkable turnaround in his fortunes where he has established himself among the top four batsmen in the world along with Steve Smith, Joe Root and Kane Williamson. A good performance here will permanently seal Kohli’s position.
