Anuppur: Congress’s stalwart and leader of opposition Rahul Singh will have vital role in ticket distribution in his influential area of Anuppur. Because this district is nearer to Vindhya area he will put his full strength for his party’s victory.
This district has three assembly seats. Out of those Anuppur and Pushprajgarh is reserved for schedule tribes. In previous elections BJP got the victory and remaining two seats i.e. Kotma and Pushprajgarh went into Congress’s account. BJP’s position has been very weak in the district.
Anuppur area is being influenced by former cabinet minister and State Congress’s vice chairman Bisahilal Sahu. He has won four elections on this seat on Congress’s ticket. But he had been defeated by BJP’s candidate Ramlal Routel in previous election. Routel had been the legislator twice from here.
As Bisahilal Sahu is not only the member of screening committee but he holds the position of State Congress’s vice chairman also. So discussions are going loudly that his son and district Panchayat’s member Vishwanath Singh would fought the election.
From BJP, apart from Routel, Vindhya Development Authority’s vice chairman Ramdas Puri and Coal Development Authority’s member are considered to be the alternatives.
Kotma is the smallest seat of this district. Manoj Agarwal is a legislator from here. He has been defeated by BJP’s candidate Dileep Jaiswal with the margin of 1700 votes in 2008 elections. But in last election, BJP refused to give the ticket to Dileep Jaiswal and allotted the ticket to Rajesh Sony and he was defeated by Manoj Jaiswal with the margin of around 1800 votes.
Altogether, Congress’s candidates had been the winners from Kotma mostly. From BJP this time Rajesh Sony will get the ticket again or apart from Dileep Jaiswal Ajay Shukla or Brijesh Gautam will get the ticket whereas from Congress, Ramnaresh Garg or Nagendre Singh are considered to be the alternate of Manoj Agarwal.
Pushprajgarh area of Dhindhori district which is closer to Chattisgarh, Congress’s sitting MLA Phundelal Singh Marco had snatched the seat from BJP by defeating Sudama Singh. However Phundelal believes that this time again Party will allot him the ticket.
But State Congress’s secretary Himadri Singh and Yashoda Singh are also engaged in pursuing the ticket from Congress. BJP had been continuously allotting the ticket to Sudama Singh and he had continuously won the elections twice.
But he had to face the defeat in the last elections. It is considered that this time his ticket can be refused. From this seat, the prominent claimants are Janpad Panchayat Chairman Heera Singh Shyam and BJP’s Tribal Front’s district president Narmada Prasad can be the face.
