GURUGRAM: Huda is all set to install high power water discharge
pumps to
desilt the
Badshapur drain. A budget of Rs 75 lakh has been earmarked for the project and the proposal has been sent for administrative approval. At least Rs 40 crore has already been spent in the construction of the drain, so far.
In mid-July, the drain had reached its full capacity near Hero
Honda Chowk and
Khandsa village. The move aims to avoid a rerun of 2016’s Gurujam this year.
Huda engineers plan to clean the drain’s downstream stretch in Khandsa village, from Sohna Road to Railway Crossing.
A super sucker machine with 250 HP (high power) jetting capacity, 440 LPM (litres per minute) water discharge, 3,000 PSI (pounds per square inch) jetting pressure and super suction with minimum 550 air handling capacity will be bought at an estimated cost of Rs 48.62 lakh.
Re-installation of pump sets and gensets, laying of cables, getting connections will be done at an estimated cost of Rs 12.60 lakh whereas structures in the alignment of the drain will be reconstructed at an estimated cost of Rs 13.25 lakh.
Work on at least 500 metres of the Badshahpur drain which has a total length of 2 kilometres is still incomplete and will be done only after the rainfall is over.
Huda administrator Chandrashekhar Khare said, “Badshapur drain is an important project for the city. We will sanction whatever costs are required.”
