Srikanth through to pre-quarters at Worlds

Kidambi Srikanth progressed to the pre quarter-finals at the World Championship being held at Nanjing, China. It wasn’t easy though as he needed three games to get the better of Spain’s Pablo Abian, 21-15 12-21 21-14.

Windies take 1-0 lead over Bangladesh in three-T20 series

West Indies chased down their target in the rain-affected first T20 against Bangladesh to take a 1-0 lead in the three match series.

After Kesrick Williams finished with career-best figures of four for 28 to restrict Bangladesh to 143 for nine in their 20 overs, rain delayed the start of the West Indies chase by over 90 minutes.

Set a revised target of 91 from 11 overs, Andre Russell’s 35 off 21 balls implied that they reached the target off 9.1 overs.
