Bhopal: 51 lakh applications received for voter’s list correction


Bhopal: More than 25 lakh applications have been received by the election commission to remove the names of the fake voters. Office of chief electoral officer released the revised electoral list on Tuesday. CEO Kantarao have given electoral roll list to the political parties and have asked them to put their claims and objections before August 21.

The office will publish the final list on September 27. He informed that from January 19-31 the list was updated. Officials have visited around 1.18 crore houses. The office has received around 51 lakh applications, in which 11.40 lakh applications were related to request for addition of names. Around 25 lakh applications were received in which it is requested that the names shall be deleted. The rest is related to name change and shifting of address.

Congress allegations true?


The Congress party had raised the issue regarding the fake voters in the state; the party had claimed that around 60 lakh fake voters are present in MP. The recent publication of the CEO, somehow put the claim of Congress to be true, because more than 25 lakh names in list are fake.
