Cong kicks off poll campaign through ‘Jan Samwad’

The Congress party on Tuesday kicked off its poll campaign with a ‘Public Contact Programme’ titled ‘Jan Samwad’ here ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in the State.

C’garh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Chief Bhupesh Baghel rolled out the programme with blowing of Conch and worship made in the Radhakrishna Temple in Jawahar Nagar.

The campaign started on the lines of BJP’s ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ would be run in the  entire State till August 10.

Senior leaders of the party mainly CGPCC Chief Bhupesh Baghel, Chairman, Election Campaign Committee (ECC), Charandas Mahant, former CGPCC Chief Dhanendra Sahu, Former leader of Opposition, Ravindra Chaubey, Former Ministers Satyanarayan Sharma and Mohammad Akbar were present in the programme.

Under the ‘Jan Samwad’ programme, the leaders, in a form of a rally proceeded for Radhakrishna temple in Jawahar Nagar coming under Raipur (North) Assembly constituency and started the 'Public Contact Programme' by holding a ‘Chaupal’ with people present there.

Later, the rally of Cong leaders and workers traversed through the narrow lanes and reached Ramsagar Para where they also met the persons from business community.

Other than Jawahar Nagar Ward, the participants of the rally also contacted persons in Sadar Bazar and Mahamaya Mandir wards.

As per the decision taken in ECC, senior leaders with other Congress party workers met senior citizens of the capital who believe in the ideology of Congress , representatives of social and business organisations and newly inducted young voters.

It has also been decided by the party that under this campaign, the works of wall writing, pamphlets, posters and banners displaying ideology of Congress party would be highlighted.
