Unprejudiced approach

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Keep it real” (July 31). Politicians and political parties in India are quite dependent on the contributions and largesse of businessmen for their political sustenance. Hence, the Prime Minister’s comment that he is not scared of meeting industrialists in public must be taken with a pinch of salt. As an astute politician, and given that elections are round the corner, he will understand the importance of financial backing, that in association with established business houses, will bring to the party. Only an approach without prejudice to the problems of the common man will usher in the good days.
