AU and CESS sign MoU

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra University and the Centre for Economics and Social Studies signed a MoU, regarding collaboration on research in economics and Social Studies, here on Tuesday. The MoU was signed by Professor K Niranjan, Registrar of AU and S Galaba, Director CESS.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao and Professor Rokkam Radhakrishna, former Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University. CESS would conduct economic and social studies research in AP from their centre in Andhra University. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor G Nageswara Rao observed that AU would encourage research in contemporary fields.

The Vice-Chancellor, further added that AU would provide a few buildings to CESS in the North campus of the University, to conduct their activities. He pointed that this was a great opportunity for AU to collaborate with CESS and conduct research in economics and allied activities, which would invariably be beneficial to the state of Andhra Pradesh on the long run.

The Vice-Chancellor further added, "CESS would help conduct collaborative research in various fields, especially at the grass root level in rural areas. Academic institutions and organisations such as NGOs would stand to benefit from the organisation." Professor Nageswara Rao added that the organisation would also help in formulating policies for socio-economic activity in the state of AP.
