Chhattisgarh: State introduces ‘eco-friendly’ wood logs for funeral made out of cow dung

In order to save trees, Raipur has introduced ‘Eco-friendly’ logs made out of cow dung for funerals. The logs will be provided to all cemeteries across Raipur for free. The logs are made by a machine which produces enough wood logs for four funerals daily. Pramod Dubey, Mayor, Raipur said that to obtain wood for the funeral, a large number of trees are cut, damaging the environment and produces a lot of smoke. So, we opted for this eco-friendly method. He added that there are 20 big funeral places in Raipur which will benefit from these wood logs made from cow dung.
