Jamshedpur Sadar Hospital bags Kayakalp Award

Minister of Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ramchandra Chandravanshi, and Principal Secretary (Health) Nidhi Khare conferred the Kayakalp (Revival) Award 2017-18 to the State’s best hospital on Tuesday. The best district hospital award has been conferred to Jamshedpur District Hospital. On this occasion, Chandravanshi directed the medical officers to start plantation campaign in all the Government hospitals.

The Health Minister said that the Prime Minister had started cleanliness in all government offices including hospitals in 2014 as a part of ‘Swacchta Abhiyaan’. He further added that all district hospitals are given equal facilities and equipment. “Other hospitals should take inspiration from the works done at Jamshedpur district hospital and patients should get such arrangements,” said Chandravanshi. The Minister said that the government is ready to accept every reasonable demand of the medical practitioners.

Meanwhile, addressing the office-bearers, Principal Secretary (Health), Nidhi Khare said that in her personal life she has availed the services of government hospitals and even today she trusts the government doctors. “We must focus on strengthening the facilities in government hospitals, so that people do not go to the private hospitals,” Khare further stated. She asserted that all Civil Surgeons of the State should accept a challenge to improve the condition of hospitals at their respective district so that hospitals here gets maximum Kayakalp award. Khare on the occasion said that several innovative experiments have been done in Jamshedpur district hospital. “There is an arrangement of soothing music in all OPDs there. Such arrangements can be done in other hospitals too. Installation of an automated laundry system in the hospital premises to prevent infection could be also applied in other hospitals,” Khare cited.

In the program, Campaign Director (NHM) Kripanand Jha said that during the visit to the districts, I have noticed that 100 to 125 hospitals in the state have the capacity to fulfill the criteria of Kayakalp award. Jha further said that all concerned officers should meet the target given to start Health and Wellness Center on or before August 9.
