Amara Raja Batteries Ltd has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary at Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone).
In a regulatory filing to the BSE, the company said that the wholly owned subsidiary, Amara Raja Batteries Middle East (FZE), was incorporated on July 31 with an authorised share capital of AED 1,50,000. It would be engaged in the trading of batteries and related products.
Apart from being a leading batteries manufacturer for the automotive sector, both two and four-wheelers, and various industrial, UPS and other applications, the company, with manufacturing plants in Andhra Pradesh, exports its batteries to some select markets abroad.
The new subsidiary will enable it to tap the growing West Asian market, the filing said
