Atladara resident conned

Vadodara: A resident of Atladara was conned by two unidentified persons near Sangam crossroads in Karelibaug on Tuesday.
Victim Samay Patel was waiting near a service station for his car on Tuesday afternoon when the two accused approached him. Patel told the police that the duo started talking with him and one of them asked him if he was looking for job. When Patel replied in yes, the duo asked him to tag along to a temple nearby for blessings.

Police said that Patel joined them, but on their way, when the duo asked for his gold necklace, ring and wallet, he gave it to them. The duo told Patel that they want to see it and will return it on their way back. After visiting the temple, when all three of them were walking back to the service station, Patel was walking ahead of the two accused. Patel looked back after walking for a distance, and found the duo missing. He realized that he had been cheated. The accused had not returned his gold chain and ring worth Rs 30,000 and wallet which contained Rs 900. Patel then informed police control room and a complaint of cheating was registered at Karelibaug police station.
