A Massey Ferguson 35X tractor, regarded by many as the ultimate MF 35, was the star of the show at an Anglesey farm dispersal.
The rare vehicle, in “barn-find” condition with just one previous owner, fetched £6,600 at the on-farm sale in Llanfairpwll .
Bought in 1962, it was one of the first MF 35X tractors off the production line.
It had been used ever since at Pontronwy, the venue for Saturday’s sale on behalf of Mrs D Pearce.
Bryncir auctioneers Lloyd Williams & Hughes , who conducted the dispersal, said the tractor went home with a local buyer.

A 1972 model of the vehicle’s predecessor, the MF 35, was also in the line-up and this sold for £4,600.
A third tractor, a 1975 International 574, made £3,500.
Auctioneer John Lloyd Williams said a large crowds were lured to the venue by the sale’s vintage and classic machinery and implements.
“Buyers bid hard knowing that the bid price was exempt from VAT and buyers’ premium,” he added.
