Five things to watch out for on July 31

The Supreme Court will hear a plea seeking a review and recall of its judgment in Judge Loya's death case. The top court in its April 19 judgment had held that Special CBI Court Judge BH Loya had met with natural death and that a PIL was misused for advancing political agenda and to scandalise the judiciary.

The first ‘Nepal-India Think Tank’ summit will begin in Kathmandu. The summit aims to facilitate cooperation and knowledge-sharing among think tanks, and to reflect on the work of think tanks and the challenges they are facing. Policymakers, government representatives, diplomats, academicians and businesses will participate in the summit.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will hold a high-level meeting to deliberate on the drought-like situation in the State. The state government is likely to declare the state as drought-hit if the rainfall recorded continues to be below average.

Mahindra & Mahindra will announce the name of its new MPV, codenamed U321. The MPV, which will compete in the same segment as the Maruti Ertiga and the Renault Lodgy, will be assembled at the company's Nashik plant.

Skywatchers are in for a treat today as Mars will be closer to Earth than it has been in 15 years. The Red Planet will be visible in the night sky after sunset till sunrise from everywhere in India, provided the monsoon clouds don’t play spoilsport.
