Demanding action against an AIADMK functionary, who had allegedly threatened the Assistant Commissioner at Kasipalayam Zone, over 50 civic body employees staged a demonstration here on Tuesday.
It was said that the functionary Govindaraj had entered the zonal office on Monday and had an altercation with the Assistant Commissioner Ashok Kumar over drinking water distribution in the wards. When Govindaraj allegedly threatened the officer, workers at the zonal office raised slogans and Govindaraj left. On Tuesday, workers gathered at the central office and demanded action against the functionary. They also submitted petition to the Superintendent of Police, Corporation Commissioner and to the Collector demanding his arrest.
