“One of the best parts of travelling as a couple is reconnecting by sharing new experiences,” says General Manager Marc Bromley. “We are thrilled to be able to offer couples a calendar of imaginative experiences that have been developed by our world-class employees and partners. I truly believe that granting our guests first-hand access to our exceptional people will leave an indelible mark.”
Set against the stunning backdrop of Maui’s sun-drenched southern coastline, these experiences join the long list of things to do, from on-property activities to once-in-a-lifetime Unforgettable Experiences, that the iconic resort offers its guests year-round:
Night Market
Inspired island craftsmen fill an open-air poolside market in this under-the-stars weekly pop-up event. This unique glimpse into the island’s eclectic art scene guarantees guests will find take-home treasures as they enjoy cocktails by the Resort’s master mixologist Ben Yabrow, and the sounds of local musicians.
Lei Day
The Resort dedicates a whole day to the art of lei making in celebration of the ancient craft. Taught by the island’s master weavers, guests are encouraged to let their creativity shine as they transform Maui’s gorgeous blooms into stunning lei po’o (head lei). Lei will also be on display throughout the day, and guests will be able to order customised lei.
The Mobile Feast
Unexpected delights await adventure-diners who crave a bit more than the predictable sit-down dinner. The Resort’s talented culinary team and expert mixologists and sommeliers will lead diners through an interactive culinary journey across the Resort’s award-winning restaurants, including Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante, DUO Steak and Seafood, and the Lobby Lounge.
Hawaiian Star Stories
Guests are invited to talk story under the stars with one of Hawaii’s most promising navigators, Kala Baybayan Tanaka. She recounts the brave history of her Polynesian wayfinding ancestors, who used only the stars, wind and currents to find their way to the Hawaiian Islands – and her own recent journey navigating the Pacific on a sailing canoe.
Poke Pop-Up
Believed to have been first prepared by native Polynesians, Hawaii’s most popular food trend, poke, continues to sweep the nation. The Resort’s expert chefs will demonstrate how to make the different variations of poke that are now found across the islands. Guests are invited to sample the delicious dish, which is paired with Maui Brewing Co.’s handcrafted local beer, at the weekly Poke Pop-Up party.
