Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra's term expired on 28 June but the Centre has not issued any communique regarding the extension of his tenure.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra
New Delhi:
Hitesh Gupta, deputy secretary to the Governor informed that they had not received any formal order from Rashtrapati Bhawan to extend the services of NN Vohra. Officials believe that the Rashtrapati Bhawan may not have issued the communique as he may be replaced.
NN Vohra, 82, assumed office in 2008 and received an extension in 2013 serving for more than a decade. Jammu and Kashmir has been under Governor's Rule since June 20, after the BJP ended its coalition with Mehbooba Mufti's People's Democratic Party.
Sources said that the successor to NN Vohra will probably be someone from a ‘police or army background’.
